Local Business Sees Off Global Competition

Romsey-based Allied Office Machines has beaten a number of major national and international competitors in its bid to provide solutions to meet the demanding print and copying needs of Totton College. The open-access college, which depends on economical delivery and reliable service, provides quality courses and services to the community, to business and to around 1000 full-time and 5000 part-time students.

Allied Office Machines, who provide copying, printing and scanning solutions to many businesses and organisations throughout the south, secured the contract against fierce competition from global manufacturers. Allied will provide Totton College with five mid to high-volume copier /printers, capable of producing over 4,000,000 pages a year! The successful bid was largely due to the level of personal support that national companies simply cannot deliver.

Rob Baker, Finance Officer of Totton College, said that Allied put in a lot of time and effort to fully understand all the printing and copying requirements of the college:

“They then put forward a comprehensive and very cost-effective proposal which we had no hesitation in accepting.”

Steve Green, Sales Director of Allied Office Machines, added:

“We are delighted to win the contract with Totton College. The key to our success is due in part to the high level of attentive account management, coupled with a uniquely personalised support service. We look forward to continue working in partnership with the college and growing with them as they increase their services and capacity to the community in the years to come.”
